Catch Up!

Yes, again it has been a while on the blog!

As always life is busy but happy with the occasional outbursts. ( I am only human after all!)
If your not on the ever addictive Instagram, here's a little re-cap of the last few months.....and hope all is well in your world!

I don't mean to brag, but I made the best ever flourless chocolate cake!
This Man and I celebrated being married for, wait for it, 20 years!

I actually got the sewing machine out and made this!
Feet selfies are indeed the best!

On her learners....ahhh! Love her lots though!

All my Menfolk and I got to have a kick on the MCG!

Commonfolk

As you may, or may not know....I do love a coffee, a good coffee! So here's a bit of a shout out......

Its always exciting to have a new "local" open up....never fear I am still loyal to my other locals but its great to share the love! So next time your in Mornington make your way to the new.... COMMONFOLK!

Located in the industrial area of Mornington ( don't let that put you off at all), it is an amazing set up, lots of open space, a cosy spot and an outside area.
Serving great coffee by a very passionate and talented Barista along side yummy food and treats.

You'll be served by young spunky people, without an attitude though, they all seem to love their job and are friendly and happy to help.

So defiantly do yourself a favour, sit down and relax or get a group together as there is plenty of room and it's great for the kiddies.

Also make sure you pop your head in at the little studios, where local artists are at work and you can chat with them and perhaps make a purchase if desired!

All in all a great new funky place to visit, a little bit of inner Melbourne has come to Mornington. Well done guys...see you Wednesday, flat white please!

16 Progress St, Mornington
Open 6:30 - 3pm Monday- Friday
8am-3pm Saturday & Sunday

Inspire

Well another weekend is over and I'm almost ready for the week ahead, are you? Or is the feeling more "brace yourself, here we go again"?!  'Roller coaster' ready perhaps?  You know what I mean??  I've spent a little R&R of my weekend getting inspired while reading this.....

.......Totally loving my new Megan Morton book! This lady has IT going on big time! Great sense of style while giving a lived in, loved, home feel.

I Love colour and I'm guessing so does Megan, and she's not afraid to use it.
A beautiful 'happy' kids bedroom that still has personality, clever!

Um, ok and she looks amazing to boot!

Mixed textures and a little quirky....just the way I like it........

Love the 'splash' of difference with the black side table, and again those textures!

Wow, what an amazing 'Brave' house....When can I move in!! ( I'll just keep drooling!)

All these lovely pictures were from pintrest, which of course in another addiction of mine! Don't forget to check out Megan's web page here for more amazing inspiration!

Adelaide Trip

Way back....that's how it feels anyway, when it was school holidays I took my boys to visit Family & friends in Adelaide. We had a beautiful, enjoyable, relaxing time.

I love seeing things around my parents house that reminds me of childhood, I am very sentimental....no surprises to those who know me. I think this comes from reading books such as Little Women & The Secret Garden when I was young and having an over active imagination!

This  gorgeous clock was from my Grandparents home I have always been fascinated by it.

Mud brick with glass bottles....I remember the day we built this wall....well, when I say 'we', I mostly mean the parents as I must admit I don't think I was a great help as I was being a lazy child whinging about the heat!

Every time I drive past this house  in Beaufort on our road trip to Adelaide I do a 'head spin'.

Also visited friends in Strathalbyn which is filled with houses like this.....'dream home'!

Things around here are taking a nice slow start to the year.....school's back and I have promised myself to try and continue the feeling of 'summer holidays' throughout the year.
Take each day as it comes, enjoy the little moments, have a glass on wine after work while chatting with my Man as he cooks, listen to my kids and look them in the eye while doing that (not while doing three other things at the same time!) 'Potter' to get jobs around the house done....no getting into a frenzy (not worth it!) Sit in the sun, read more, dance more.....well you get the point and I can only do my best.

So you may be wondering 'what' this blog is now going to be about...then again maybe you are not!
Any way....this is, as was always my visual diary and will continue to be that way.

Life is busy and I want to 'chat' a bit more than I can on instagram (my addiction!).... to myself anyway.

This will be about my kids, my 'find's, what inspires me and my vision....which is to 'Style' (make things pretty, comfortable, livable...with "your own personality" for others). How I can make this happen? Will it work?  Got to take that 'Leap' and see where I fall......

Hope all in blogland are well & happy.......

Our little tomatoes.....tasty!

New in 2013

Fresh new look in 2013.......Almost one year since my last post!

There will be more to come....as they say, 'Stay Tuned'.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Ok it time to admit it.....I really don't have the time to blog much anymore, I know, sniff sniff...... I feel a bit sad about it as it is something I really enjoy and even needed, when I first started.

But how life changes hey! When I started this blog I had a little baby and was in a little town, not working much.....now that little boy is going to school in a few weeks and we live in a busier area (for us anyway), and I work permanently in a job I love.

Last year I did a few 'spurts' of posting but would get annoyed I couldn't add everything I wanted to.
Yes I know its sad that life gets too busy to really sit now and write and catch up on all the going on's in blog land but it's also a good thing to be busy.

I'm lucky to be able to still create when I want and stock some goodies in the shop I work  in....treasure the  children I have..... I'm amazed how they are growing up ( I am now Mum's Taxi also)....... Stealing time with my husband when we can....making the moments count.

This is going to be a good year with lots of possibilities, a daughter in yr 10, a son starting high school, another one starting primary, a husband that will finish his nursing course in June and me......mmm, well I feel like doing something for me, maybe take up Zumba and do a little course, paint..........well I'll  see!

But I must say I am loving Instagram with all the convenience and quick glances to get inspiration from all those I follow! I have  been happily snapping away now since the start of the school holidays and I'm hooked!

I 'm thinking I'll may just do a monthly catch up here, bit of a purge or some such thing, ha....... but in the mean time would love to still stay in touch , so feel free to                  follow me on instragram, I'm dorothybills there also and don't forget I have a facebook page!

So I guess this is my belated "What I see for the year ahead".........Looking forward to what it may bring!
